The Clinical Team
In addition, onsite at PACC, our fellowship trained rheumatologists offer the latest evaluation and treatment of osteoporosis and all inflammatory diseases, including Lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. Finally, PACC has physical and occupational therapists with certified training and expertise in the treatment of orthopedic, sports, and hand injuries. Acupuncture treatment is available as well.
Physician Assistants
Physician Assistants are licensed healthcare professionals and board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants to practice medicine. They are an integral part of the hospital healthcare team involved in providing quality post-operative care including, but not limited to, medical and pain management following orthopedic surgery. Physician Assistants coordinate your post-operative care with multiple disciplines including nursing and occupational therapy to facilitate your recovery from surgery and assure your progression towards independence in anticipation of discharge to home.
Physical Therapists
Physical therapists are professionally educated at the college or university level and licensed by the state of New York. Physical therapists help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients with injuries or disease through therapeutic exercise, manual therapy and modalities (i.e. electrical stimulation, ultrasound, etc). They also restore, maintain and promote overall fitness and health. Physical therapists affiliated with the Department of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine interact and practice in collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
Care Team
We have a dedicated team that will work with to you to guide you through the patient process. This includes assistance with scheduling appointments, scheduling a surgery if necessary, assisting you with check-in, obtaining your medical records and answering your questions.
